The fact that the car can and will deliver good mileage under some hypermiling bumper sticker operating conditions eliminates many items such as possible incorrect ignition time. Many factors that can kill your fuel mileage (such as incorrect timing) would cause poor fuel mileage under any and all operating conditions.I wouldn't advise a "seat of the pants" timing adjustment where you attempt to reach the threshold of pinging. Have ignition timing checked and adjusted if necessary as per the under hood tune-up decal. Advancing the timing beyond specification wouldn't help fuel economy significantly, if at all, and might require the use of high octane fuel exclusively.Your car likely either has a problem with one or more emission control devices or your operating conditions/driving habits are such that poor fuel economy is inevitable.Have the following items checked:1. Choke clean and adjusted to spec and choke vacuum break functional and adjusted properly.2. Cooling system thermostat closed below 195 degrees (F) coolant temperature.3. EFE (early fuel evaporation or "heat riser" valve) closed below 180 degrees Fahrenheit coolant temperature.4. Thermostatic air cleaner functioning properly during warm-up and all vacuum and air duct hoses routed and attached properly
Enough is enough. Time to take advantage of the local lemon laws. I’m not going to get stuck with a worthless piece of trash for the amount of money I paid. I’m sick and tired of being jerked around.
I’ve researched the particular Used Car Lemon LawS that are applicable in this case, and I’m confident that I can win. I’m not about to take this lying down.
In years past you could seal a deal with a handshake and be confident the dealer would do right by you. Now they’re all sleazeballs. A lawsuit serves them right.
The differential of trailer hitch covers has encouraged some private motorists to purchase a van rather than a small car, and many small business operators use a van for private motoring at the weekend. Tax distortions play a significant role in determining the size of the small van sector in several other European countries. The medium van sector is dominated by Ford and Volkswagen, and last year Ford succeeded in ousting VW from its leadership of the European production league, thanks to the strong demand for its Transit panel van, which was launched in a new form at the beginning of 2007.
