I was talking to a friend yesterday about Elder Neglect.
My grandmother had a nightmare experience at the first home we placed her in. It was horrifying.
It’s horrible to have had to deal with Assisted Living Abuse, but you have to play the cards you’re dealt.
We’ve moved her to a more reputable place, now, thank goodness. We’re still watching over her much more closely, though.
Maybe you can help settle the matter - feel free to comment.
Many of the active retirement communities in America allow you to live a life of royalty. The communities have private apartment homes which are staffed 24 hours. You do not have to worry about mowing your lawn or fixing a leaky pipe. Many of the Active Retirement Communities have emergency communication system apart from a host of other facilities. There are facilities for guests also and you can have a nice time with them when they visit your place. The entertainment facilities include in-house movie theatres, tennis and golf.
Are you from Canada? I have a friend who lives in Ontario approaching her senior years. She is single and looking to move into a facility that can take care of her during her senior years. I suggested that she consider evaluating Ontario assisted living establishments. Many of these places can cater to senior needs when the call for them arises. In the early years they are not necessarily needed. In the later stage of life it can become an issue when help is needed to perform certain basic daily tasks.
Long term home care can be provided at home, in the community, in assisted living or in nursing homes.
